Prayer for Isabel’s intercession

Almighty Father, in Your infinite goodness You made Queen Isabel the Catholic, a model for young ladies, wives, mothers, women leaders and government rulers.  As the first sovereign of the American continent You granted to her heart a sense of piety, justice, compassion and the vision of a new land full of promise.  Grant us the grace to see Your infinite majesty glorified in her prompt canonisation, and through her intercession... [the success of the Ang Kapatiran Party in the coming May elections] that we ask of You in this present need through Christ Our Lord.  Amen.

Servant of God, Queen Isabel, pray for us.
Our Father...Hail Mary...Glory Be...

Why Isabel the Catholic?

Queen Isabel the Catholic changed the face of the world.  She was instrumental in the defence of Christianity in Europe; she sponsored the discovery of America; began the largest evangelisation campaign since the Apostles; won the longest war in history; promoted women and prohibited slavery; was a devoted wife and mother of five; and she codified universal human rights.

Isabel loved Christ.  She made herself God’s humble instrument and God worked mightily through her.  We believe that Isabel, as a great laywoman, is a vital model for today, not only for girls, wives, mothers, women leaders and government rulers, but for all men and women seeking to love God and love their neighbour in every aspect of their daily lives.

The Vatican recognises Queen Isabel as a Servant of God.  Every day we pray that God’s infinite majesty may be glorified in her prompt canonization.  We pray also through Isabel’s intercession for justice, compassion, peace and for all those goods which God in His everlasting love yearns to pour out upon humanity, His children.

There is today a global crisis in public life, a murderous struggle over the proper relation between Church and State, between faith and politics.  Although she had enemies, Queen Isabel was adored by her people and admired around the world.  She proves that a sovereign can live the Catholic faith to the full, and that it is precisely this combination—capable and courageous leaders who believe in a God of love—which draws the greatest blessings on mankind, bringing peace, order and lasting prosperity.

The Close of the Age of Mary

http://www.msgrjohnesseff.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/immaculate-heart-of-mary-234x300.jpg

If the speculations are true that the next Pope will be the Angelic Pastor found in Catholic prophecy, the Marian Pope who will restore the Church, then this author speculates that we may see the following things come to pass:

  • The canonization of the Ven. Maria de Agreda
The objection to her cause for beatification was never her reputation for sanctity. As Fr. Peter Fehlner, F.I. says, "A few years ago, Pope John Paul II, on behalf of the Spanish hierarchy, asked the Holy Office for the Nihil Obstat required in order to reopen for the umpteenth time the cause of the beatification of the Venerable Mary. ...Anyway, the Holy Office said 'No objections to the mystical phenomena however, even though she is a holy woman, an orthodox woman, her Mariology is incompatible with Vatican II.'" In the video linked to, Fr. Fehlner, using Fr. Llamas' book, goes on to explain that the two are compatible, that, in fact, her Mariology anticipates the Mariology of Vatican II in Lumen Gentium.

For me this is but symptomatic of where the Church is regarding a fuller and more complete understanding of Our Lady's role as Spiritual Mother. Therefore, I believe, until we have a genuine appreciation for The Mystical City of God, the lack of which being the only obstacle for her being raised to the altar, then we will not see the Age of Mary come full circle.
  • The declaration of St. Louis de Montfort as Doctor of the Church.
I read the following in a small booklet given at a Marian parish event:

According to Cardinal Mercier, "a worldwide promotion of Grinion's 'true devotion' among Catholics is identical with the success of the proposal for a dogmatic definion" (Hauke p. 91)

If Cardinal Mercier is right, that the widespread undertaking of St. Louis' true devotion is a crucial factor, then we may very well see Saint Louis declared a Doctor of the Church when many follow his teachings. For then it could be said that "the whole Church is held to have derived great advantage" from his writings.
